    Registration of Participants / Information Desk

    Registration will take place at the Safari Conference Centre on the following days:
    • Friday, 20 May 2011 from 08h00 – 18h00
    • Saturday, 21 May 2011 from 07h30 – 08h30

    All participants are requested to register upon arrival at the Safari Hotel and Conference Centre, and will be issued with an identity badge and conference bag.

    Accommodation
    Block bookings have been made at the following hotels: • Safari Hotel (block booked for the Namibian Delegation) • Windhoek Country Club and Resort (block booked for the Chinese Delegation) • Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino (block booked for the rest of Africa Delegations)

    Entry to Namibia
    All delegates will be met at the airport by the Conference Organisers. A valid passport is required for entry into Namibia. Passports must be valid for a minimum period of 6 months after the expected date of departure.

    NOTE: For delegates requiring visas kindly ensure that you have a Namibian Visa and South African Transit Visa before you depart from your country of origin.

    Transportation
    A scheduled return transfer service will be available from the Hosea Kutako International Airport to the accommodation establishments, conference venue and special events venues.

    Please kindly note that only the above mentioned transport is provided free-of-charge.

    Currency Regulations
    The unit of currency in Namibia is the Namibian Dollar. The Namibian Dollar (N$) is linked to the South African Rand (ZAR) at par value.

    Language:  English is the official language

    Local Time Namibia is one hour ahead of GMT in the winter months, April to September, and two hours ahead of GMT from October to March.

    Electric current
    Main power in Namibia is 220/240 Volts AC, 50-60HZ. Power sockets in Namibia are of the 15 am, 3-pin round type. Many hotels also prove 2-pin, 110 volt sockets.

    Banking Services Banks are open between 08h00 to 15h30, Monday to Friday.
    Saturday banking hours are from 08h30 to 11h00.
    Most banks have a Bureau de Change and internationally recognized currencies can be exchanged.
    Most establishments in the country accept international credit cards.
    Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) are available throughout the city.

    Trading Hours
    Trading hours are weekdays from 08h00 to 17h00 and Saturdays from 08h30 to 13h00.

    VAT 15% VAT is charged on all articles and services. Foreign nationals (from outside the Southern African Customs Union) can claim VAT refunds at the border on departure on items costing individually N$2,000, but must have the necessary completed documentation (Form VAT 16), all receipts and the items with them. No VAT should be charged on bulkier items that are dispatched directly by the seller to a foreign destination.
